Kinematic Analysis of the 2020 Elliot Creek Landslide, British Columbia, Using Remote Sensing Data

چکیده
The 2020 Elliot Creek landslide-tsunami-flood cascade originated from an 18.3 Mm 3 rock slope failure in quartz diorite bedrock a valley undergoing rapid glacial retreat. We used airborne LiDAR and optical imagery to characterize the its surroundings. Using LiDAR, we determined that two rockslides (2020 older undated one) occurred on this shared common basal rupture surface. mapped main sets of lineaments represent structures controlled orientation lateral rear release surfaces. Analysis topographic profile indicates wedge-shaped block stepped Further analysis possibility structurally geomorphic step corresponds with change valley. retreat West Grenville Glacier positions surfaces suggest played role landslides.

Drought Analysis of Alvand Boundary River Using Remote Sensing Data
Extended abstract 1- Introduction The study of the behavior of rivers in the arid and dry areas is one of the most important tasks in the country. Because the area has increased the effects of drought due to the sensitivity of the area and rainfall shortage, it causes changes in the flow and sediment regime, water resources, agriculture, and so on. Since plants react more precisely to t...

Extended abstract 1- Introduction Coastal environments are one of the most sensitive environmental systems under the influence of dominant hydrodynamic processes. Coastal changes and evolution are occurring very fast. Coastal areas are now gradually becoming known as severe natural and man-made disturbances, including sea levels rising, coastal erosion and sedimentation, and over-exploitat...
متن کاملLandslide Risk Analysis of Historic Forest Development in the Interior of British Columbia—Challenges Encountered at Fall Creek
In June 1990, the Fall Creek area east of Enderby, B.C., experienced about 66 landslides. These landslides impacted forested slopes and forestry roads, destroyed several BC Hydro transmission towers, damaged and destroyed houses, and cut off highway access to the area, resulting in the evacuation of residents. These slides also destroyed a fi sh farm, several licensed water intakes, and impacte...
متن کاملTectonically Altered Coal Rank, Boulder Creek Formation, Northeastern British Columbia
Fieldwork during the 1988 season involved investigation of the thermal affects of tectonic movement on vitrinite reflectance near the Quintette Coal Limited mining operation in northeastern British Columbia. Two samples, collected in 1987, from the same seam on either side of a fault, suggested a significant rank increase associated with the stmctwe. These sites were revisited and sampled toget...
متن کاملUse of Remote Sensing Data for Landslide Change Detection: Montescaglioso Large Landslide (Basilicata, Southern Italy)
Remote sensing techniques have been widely used since the 1990s in landslide research, deploying for this purpose different spatial and spectral resolution imagery. This research includes photo-interpretation and inventory of large landslides, determinant factors analysis, stereo-plotting of movements, and automatic detection by textural analysis. The potential or intrinsic factors of landslide...
